Odyssey Connect - Wireless Access

Pantheon has undertaken a new and innovative program to provide mobile wireless access for Odyssey users in the form of mobile management controls and direct real-time notifications from Odyssey Projects and Task Agents. With these new capabilities, Odyssey users will be able to securely use, manage and control Odyssey automation projects from anywhere, with a range of smart-phone wireless devices.

The fundamental strength of Odyssey is its ability to automate complex technical processes and reduce labor intensive technical tasks.  Odyssey is about bringing efficiency to technical organizations.

Helping Organizations Achieve Unmatched Real-time Automation
Businesses routinely require extensive travel for much of its personnel who are tasked with real-time demands of on-going projects.  To address this reality Pantheon has committed to a major product development program that will provide extensive wireless access for both Odyssey users and Odyssey automation projects. With these new product options, Odyssey users will be able to securely use, manage and control Odyssey automation projects from anywhere with a Blackberry device.

Access to Odyssey Management Controls
One of Odyssey’s fundamental strengths is its built-in facilities for man “in-the-loop” control over the automation process. Critical process functions such as management authorization require explicit human input.  Given the demands of business travel, access to a PC on a corporate LAN is not always possible. Experience with Odyssey in the field indicates that providing mobile access to Odyssey’s project controls would yield substantial improvements in timely project deployments and approvals.

Real-time Project Alerts and Status Information for Wireless Users
One of the most dificult aspects of technical project development is the long lag time between the appearance of an error, bug, or configuration problem and the time it takes to find the appropriate technician who can diagnose and fix the problem.
This long-cycle time is often measured in days, simply because of communication inefficiencies inherent in the process.  By providing an Odyssey interface that can send alerts and detailed status messages directly to support staff in real-time, the entire system/application deployment cycle can be significantly reduce
